Nick von Schoenberg has been an air traffic controller for over 25 years. Since March 2022, he has served as President of the Canadian Air Traffic Control Association (CATCA), where he advocates for the interests of air traffic controllers across Canada, championing safety and excellence in the aviation industry.

In addition to his role with CATCA and president of the Global Air Traffic Control Alliance, Nick was recently (Nov. 2024) selected as chair for the ATM subcommittee in the civil aviation section of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF).

Nick began his career as an air traffic controller in 1997, earning both tower and terminal endorsements that have shaped his comprehensive understanding of air traffic operations. Most recently, he brought his expertise to the forefront as a controller at Vancouver International Airport, one of Canada’s busiest and most complex control towers.
