Charlotte Nyret
ESSP
Charlotte Neyret is an aerospace executive with over 30 years of experience in the space industry. After beginning her career in engineering and holding a range of roles in operations, business development, and strategy, primarily at Thales Alenia Space, she built strong expertise across satellite navigation, telecommunications, and air traffic management.
Since 2021, she has been leading ESSP as CEO, driving the company’s strategic transformation and growth. Under her leadership, ESSP has expanded its role in Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) satellite-based services while reinforcing its position as a key provider of high-quality satellite-based services, particularly through the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS).
She has steered the organization toward diversification and sustainable growth, supporting the digital transformation of European airspace. A cornerstone of her tenure is ESSP’s role as the Iris service provider. This flagship program is transforming air traffic management by enabling real-time, secure satellite datalink communications between pilots, air traffic controllers, and airline operations centres. Iris is expected to improve airspace efficiency, reduce delays, lower fuel consumption, and decrease aviation’s environmental footprint.
During her leadership, ESSP also achieved a major milestone by becoming the first company to obtain dual EASA certifications as both a satellite navigation and communication service provider, reinforcing its position at the forefront of CNS service provision in Europe.
