CANSO

Javier Alejandro Vanegas is the Regional Director for Latin America and Caribbean at the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO). He leads CANSO’s strategic agenda across the Latin America and the Caribbean, representing the interests of CANSO and its Members before governmental, industry, and multilateral bodies.

Before joining CANSO, he worked in Enaire’s Air Navigation International Development Department, contributing to major European and international programs such as SESAR and EGNOS, and managing the financial and strategic environment of international projects. Earlier in his career, he held roles in EADS CASA (Airbus Military) in Madrid, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (including JFK Airport operations), and the Lee County Port Authority in Florida, gaining broad operational and industry experience across the industry.

Mr. Vanegas holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Administration from the State University of New York at Farmingdale and a Master’s Degree in Airport Systems from the Polytechnic University of Madrid’s Aeronautical Engineering School.
