EXIA – AI-Powered Exoskeleton for Ground Handling

Session Demo Zone, B43

Sponsored by:
German Bionic

From baggage handling on the apron to complex air cargo operations, many airport workflows still depend on people performing physically demanding work. Tobias Staufenberg from German Bionic will show how the AI-powered EXIA exoskeleton supports workers when lifting, lowering and carrying baggage and cargo, as well as during work in forward-bent positions. Drawing on real-world deployments at Nuremberg Airport and Maastricht Aachen Airport, the session explores how human-centric robotics can complement automation in ground handling
