Biography
Erin Murphy is a political communications professional and serves as Director of Consumer Advocacy at the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). In this role, she leads the day-to-day operations of the Consumer Advocacy Program, advancing NAR’s mission to educate and engage consumers on policies that impact homeownership and the value of REALTOR® expertise.
She staffs the 25-member Consumer Advocacy Advisory Board and oversees a 10-million-member national consumer database, consumer advocacy grants, and Calls for Action at the state and local level—connecting consumers to real estate and community issues that affect affordability, access, and opportunity. Erin also leads national consumer education campaigns on the REALTOR public policy issues, including capital gains, driving significant consumer engagement and awareness through targeted digital outreach, email, and paid media.
Erin has been with NAR since 2008 and previously directed the implementation of the grassroots strategic advocacy and member involvement plan, Building a Culture of Advocacy, strengthening REALTOR® engagement in public policy efforts nationwide.
Prior to joining NAR, Erin managed the Federal Judiciary’s website at the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts and served as a Senior Communications Specialist for the Brookings Institution’s Presidential Appointee Initiative.
