Russell Hokanson is the Chief Executive Officer of the Seattle King County REALTORS®, a trade association of over 5500 real estate brokers in King and Kittitas counties in Washington State.

He has held leadership roles in association management for over 30 years and focuses his efforts on leadership development, public policy and membership communications.  He previously served on the National Association of REALTORS® Leadership Academy Advisory Board and the NAR Strategic Planning Committee in 2025, which drafted NAR’s new 3-year plan for 2026-2028. 

He holds a Masters degree from Georgetown University and a non-profit management certificate from the Graham School at the University of Chicago.  He is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Russ served as the staff director to the Lieutenant Governor of Washington State in 1989 and has held legislative staff positions in the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as public affairs positions in the Northwest telecommunications industry.
