Tessie is the Director of Communications and Marketing for AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio, where she leads strategic communications initiatives that advance member engagement, health literacy, and Medicaid program goals. She partners across clinical, quality, and operational teams to shape effective messaging and deploy innovative engagement solutions, including the Motivv mobile gaming program. Before joining AmeriHealth Caritas, Tessie spent more than a decade as the Communications Director for the State of Ohio, leading strategy for major health and human services agencies such as the Ohio Department of Health, the State Medical Board of Ohio, and the Ohio Department of Aging. She specializes in public health communications, crisis communications, and statewide health‑policy messaging. Tessie served as a critical leader during the COVID‑19 pandemic, developing high‑stakes communications frameworks and drafting major statewide response plans — including the Ohio Hospital Zone Plan, used to coordinate regional capacity, stabilize hospital operations, and support public‑health decision‑making during surges. Her combined experience in public health, government operations, and Medicaid managed care uniquely positions her to drive innovative, equitable approaches to member engagement.
