Rethinking Committees for Greater Impact
Traditional committee structures can lead to stagnant participation, repetitive agendas, and limited results. This session explores fresh approaches to governance, including replacing standing committees with flexible, purpose-driven task forces, appointing only the groups needed to address current priorities, or even operating without committees unless a specific need arises. By streamlining governance, associations can cut down on unnecessary meetings, free staff and volunteer time, and create more meaningful opportunities for member engagement. The goal: a leaner, more strategic model that delivers stronger outcomes for the association and its members.
