Biography

A CPA-turned-attorney, Andowah Newton brings a rare blend of financial acumen and legal expertise, with over two decades of experience spanning BigLaw, in-house legal leadership, nonprofits, public accounting, and international NGOs. Andowah’s expertise is in litigation strategy, dispute resolution, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and high-stakes negotiations. She began her career as an auditor at PwC, working with clients in tech, media, and entertainment, followed by a role as internal controls analyst at The Estée Lauder Companies.

After earning dual law degrees from Cornell Law School and The Sorbonne, Andowah clerked for the First Vice President Judge of the International Criminal Court before litigating complex commercial cases for eight years at Hogan Lovells and Mintz Levin, where she worked on high-stakes litigations and major regulatory investigations on behalf of a wide variety of clients. Andowah then transitioned in-house, serving as Vice President, Legal Affairs and Head of Litigation at LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton for eight years.

She provided strategic counsel to global executives and oversaw a diverse litigation portfolio for 30+ affiliate brands, including consumer class actions, antitrust investigations, disputes involving a massive commercial real estate portfolio, and a wide range of other legal matters. Before joining NAR, Andowah consulted and provided thought leadership on legal, policy, and regulatory issues spanning litigation, dispute resolution, crisis management, antitrust, technology, AI, and employment law. She also founded and leads a youth empowerment nonprofit honoring her baby brother Ryan's legacy—a role she has held for eight years. Andowah is a prolific speaker and multi-award-winning advocate who has testified before Congress, been cited in legal treatises, and quoted in major national media outlets. Fluent in French and conversant in Spanish, Andowah also holds undergraduate degrees from Georgetown University and Université de Lyon III.
