Biography

Leslie Nettleford-Freeman is the Associate General Counsel, Vice President of Legal Affairs and Brand Protection for the National Association of REALTORS®. She has over two decades of experience in intellectual property, brand enforcement, and strategic legal leadership. Leslie's work includes expanding NAR’s trademark enforcement footprint and creating streamlined brand protection workflows and processes. She is also an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, teaching intellectual property monetization and online brand protection strategies. Her achievements and commitment to legal excellence have earned her multiple accolades, including the Outstanding In-House Counsel Award from the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Top Assistant General Counsel Award from the First Chair Awards Conference.

Prior to joining NAR, Leslie served as Associate General Counsel at AARP, where she led major trademark enforcement campaigns, shutting down fraudulent websites, and providing extensive internal training on copyright and trademark compliance. Under her leadership, AARP built a cross-departmental brand protection team—spanning digital, marketing, and IT—to respond quickly to emerging threats and protect seniors from scams and misuse of the brand. Leslie received her B.A from Washington Adventist University and her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. She is admitted to practice before the Maryland state bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
