Clinical Use of Objective Strength Metrics in NCAA DI Softball Pitchers to Optimize Upper Extremity Health: Type 2 Exploration CASE Series

2026-06-30 | 10:07 AM - 10:14 AM

Learning Objectives:

1.) Increasing awareness that there are several studies on upper extremity health of baseball players, there exists a large gap in the amount of research done on softball players. 2.) Understanding the benefits of using objective strength data to prevent injuries in softball pitchers. 3.) Using long-term tracking of objective strength data in softball pitchers can help clinicians develop a larger normative base of average strength measures in healthy individuals. 4.) Expanding organizations and participants in this study can create a larger normative base and increase further studies that use objective strength data in combination with pitch counts to help develop appropriate, standardized pitch counts in softball like those that already exist in baseball organizations.
