Greater Explosive Quadriceps Strength was Associated with Favorable Landing Mechanics in Individuals with and without Patellar Tendinopathy

2026-07-01 | 09:28 AM - 09:35 AM

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify the influence of explosive quadriceps strength on biomechanical factors associated with patellar tendinopathy risk. 2. Interpret the findings for peak knee flexion angle, peak knee flexion excursion, peak knee extension moment during absorption phase of landing, and knee flexion angle at initial contact in individuals with and without patellar tendinopathy. 3. Purpose the future implications for the intervention targeting explosive quadriceps training to prevent or reduce patellar tendinopathy risk.

Keywords: patellar tendon damage, rate of torque development, biomechanics
