Learning Objectives:
Explain how the Global Well-being Index (GWI) was adapted and applied to assess concussion history and mental health correlates in a military veteran population. Analyze the statistical relationships between GWI scores and validated measures of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and suicide ideation. Interpret receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve data and odds ratios (ORs) to evaluate the predictive validity of GWI cut-points for mental health outcomes. Differentiate between the residual effects of concussion and overlapping symptoms of mental health disorders when interpreting GWI outcomes in veteran populations. Apply the findings of this research to inform evidence-based clinical decision-making and interdisciplinary collaboration for veteran mental health screening.
