Dr. Jessica Wallace is an Associate Professor at The University of Alabama in the Department of Health Science and Athletic Training Program. Dr. Wallace received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami in Athletic Training followed by a Master’s degree in Physical Education from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Wallace spent 2 years working clinically for UCF and 3 years working as a secondary school athletic trainer and physical education teacher before completing her PhD in Kinesiology from Michigan State University and Master’s of Public Health in Epidemiology from Harvard University. Dr. Wallace’s research agenda focuses on adolescent brain health –primarily detecting, understanding patterns of health disparities in athletic populations experiencing various social determinants of health –and creating interventions to reduce disparities to achieve health equity.
