Carrie Rubertino Shearer, M.Ed., PT, ATC is the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Medicine at Baylor University. She joined Baylor in 2018 as Director of Rehabilitation Services, was promoted to Assistant AD for Athletic Medicine in 2019, and became Associate AD in 2021.
Prior to Baylor, she worked at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2009 to 2017, providing athletic training and physical therapy services and serving as head athletic trainer for multiple varsity sports. Earlier positions include Associate Head Athletic Trainer at UCLA (including Head Men’s Basketball Athletic Trainer) and athletic trainer/physical therapist roles at Santa Clara University and Stanford University.
Shearer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from The Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in Education from Auburn University. She holds certifications in Integrative Dry Needling, Graston Technique, Blood Flow Restriction Therapy, and as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. She serves as the Big 12 Representative for ICSM. Carrie and her husband, John, have three daughters.
