Dr. Evan O. Nelson, PT, DPT, PhD, a board-certified specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy, is an associate professor in the UW-Madison Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison In this role, he prepares Doctor of Physical Therapy students for contemporary practice by teaching evolving practice areas such as diagnostic imaging, pharmacology, nutrition, and primary care. His practice experience spans multiple sports and orthopedic clinical settings including a current position at UW-Madison University Health Service. His research developed patient-reported outcome measures for sports medicine and he is actively involved in research aiming to reduce the toll of running-related injuries in youth athletes. He created the Velocity Project to disseminate evidence-based knowledge to enhance health, performance, or experience for youth track and field athletes.
