Introduction

Organising a one-day exhibition and conference that delivers real impact takes careful planning and collaboration. In 2025, the SEHTA (Science and Engineering Health Technologies Alliance) team set out to elevate the experience, focusing on creating a more connected, engaging, and sustainable event.

Partnering with AITL, SEHTA enhanced app engagement, refined the design, and streamlined the attendee journey. The result was a smoother, more interactive experience that brought delegates, exhibitors, and speakers together in a dynamic digital environment.

The 2025 event app achieved outstanding engagement across all metrics, reflecting strong attendee adoption and enthusiasm. Private messaging increased fivefold, fostering meaningful networking and peer-to-peer interaction throughout the day. Saved sessions rose by 39.8%, showing greater interest in the event content and schedule personalization. Meanwhile, sponsor banner clicks more than doubled, highlighting stronger visibility and engagement with event partners. Overall, the app played a key role in deepening participation and enhancing the overall event experience.

The challenge

For 2025, the organisers aimed to take their digital event experience to the next level. Building on feedback from the previous year, they wanted to increase engagement with their event app and enhance its layout and usability to make it even more intuitive for attendees.
